Did you know that for over 30 years Abridge has hosted an annual Summer Ball for residents, their friends and families?  The idea of a village ball was one of many initiatives the local residents initiated to raise funds to purchase the land and build our village hall on Ongar Road having outgrown the old London Road site. This has grown over the years to be the first event of our fantastic Village Weekend and is as popular as ever because of the brilliant atmosphere and friendliness of all that attend. Proceeds from the Ball and the other events over the weekend,a are invested back into the local community with money raised used to keep the Village Hall available for local clubs and residents along with contributing to the installation of the playground and adult exercise machines on the field.

This year we have a new band playing at the Ball. Barcoda are a live band that plays a wide range of music that will have everybody tapping their toes and dancing on the dancefloor.

On arrival, you are greeted with a champagne reception followed by a 4-course hot meal cooked by a professional caterer and served by silver service waitresses. After a delicious meal, the live band will keep you entertained for the remainder of the evening.

Tables are all round and can seat up to 12 people.  We can accommodate smaller tables too with a minimum 4/6 guests, or if you wish to come as a couple or on your own we can place you on another table. Tickets are now available costing just £48.00 and can be purchased by calling 07719 005 928.

It is a small band of helpers that put on the Village Weekend and we are always looking for help organising and putting the events on. We are very relaxed and have a good time while helping the hall and the village.
